This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design and execute electrical systems for hyper-scale data centers, encompassing medium and low-voltage power distribution, backup power solutions, and emergency systems.
• Create and sustain electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation diagrams.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations, including the National Electric Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers and stakeholders to establish specifications, design criteria, and project budgets.
• Assess electrical systems to identify and rectify issues, including load balancing, capacity planning, and optimizing power consumption.
• Oversee and maintain electrical systems, which includes conducting preventative maintenance, testing, and repairs.
• Formulate and enforce electrical safety protocols and training programs for technicians and other personnel.
• Stay informed about advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies.
• Provide specialized technical guidance to supporting staff, serving as a mentor and leader for mid-level engineers.
• Approve and validate work, acting as the Engineer of Record.
• Offer estimates for the engineering budget and timeline to fulfill requirements on large, complex projects.
• Lead technical client interactions and play a significant role in sales efforts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering along with eight (8) years of relevant experience in electrical design and/or electrical engineering.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer License (P.E.) or Professional Engineer Designation (P. Eng).
• Comprehensive experience in electrical engineering for data centers or other critical facilities.
• In-depth understanding of the National Electric Code (NFPA70).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to build and sustain robust relationships with clients.
• Creative thinking skills and the ability to identify opportunities to improve the client experience.
• Experience with building information modeling (BIM) software, particularly ACC Cloud.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards.
