This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, architect, and enhance Elasticsearch clusters, indexes, mappings, and data models at scale.
• Create dashboards, scripted queries, alerting strategies, and analytics using Kibana.
• Lead the development and governance of ingestion and extraction workflows with Apache NiFi.
• Drive improvements to the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE).
• Manage performance tuning, cluster health, resilience, and observability in distributed environments.
• Provide technical leadership within SAFe teams regarding system design, data patterns, and integration impacts.
• Implement enterprise-level data security, compliance, and migration best practices.
• Assess Elastic Stack capabilities and formulate multi-phase upgrade roadmaps with impact analysis.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and cross-functional teams to adopt platform capabilities.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers while establishing engineering standards.
• Create long-term technical roadmaps that align with mission requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
• Eight or more years of progressive engineering experience.
• A minimum of two years of hands-on professional experience with Elasticsearch.
• Expert-level understanding of Elasticsearch internals, cluster tuning, scaling strategies, shard allocation, and snapshot management.
• Advanced expertise in Kibana analytics, scripted fields, pipeline aggregations, alerting, and observability.
• Strong skills in SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL databases.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, RDS, and EKS, or equivalent cloud-based data platforms.
• Capability to lead technical initiatives and influence architectural decisions.
• Willingness and ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Experience with vector search engines, embeddings, similarity algorithms, and hybrid search methodologies.
• Knowledge of machine learning-driven observability, anomaly detection, log and metric correlation, and predictive alerting.
• Experience with relational database management systems, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Proficiency in Groovy, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Understanding of containerized deployments and infrastructure as code principles.
• Experience in leading or mentoring technical teams.
• Possession of Elastic certifications such as Engineer, Analyst, or Observability.
• AWS certifications like Solutions Architect.
• Experience with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, GitLab, or Jenkins.
• Background in machine learning or data science workflows.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse technical and functional teams.
• Proven success in supporting or leading initiatives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.
• Minimum Secret clearance requirement to start is specified in the job details; qualifications indicate willingness and ability to obtain it.
