Senior Educational Technologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main escalation point for intricate LMS, integration, and instructional technology challenges.

• Diagnose system-level and cross-platform issues related to LMS tools, integrations, and course functionalities.

• Determine the root causes of recurring problems and implement durable solutions.

• Guide the development or revision of complex or high-impact courses in collaboration with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and multimedia specialists.

• Create and develop advanced interactive learning content utilizing LMS tools and authoring platforms.

• Ensure compliance with best practices in instructional design, accessibility, and usability.

• Act as a subject matter expert regarding LMS functionalities and supported instructional technologies.

• Conduct advanced LMS troubleshooting, tool configuration, and course optimization.

• Assist in the testing and validation of new features, updates, and integrations.

• Co-lead the troubleshooting and optimization of intricate LTI integrations and external tools.

• Work together with vendors and IT teams to resolve complex technical issues.

• Establish and document best practices for integration setup and support.

• Provide advanced training and consultation to faculty members.

• Mentor Educational Technologists I and II, supporting their professional growth.

• Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and training resources.

• Identify and implement improvements in workflow, support processes, and course quality.

• Contribute to the evaluation and piloting of new instructional technologies.

• Collaborate with instructional designers, IT personnel, and academic stakeholders.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Business, Information Technology, Multimedia Production, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience in instructional technology, LMS support, or course development.

• Extensive background in designing and developing courses.

• Advanced proficiency with LMS platforms and instructional technologies.

• Significant experience with LTI integrations and third-party tools.

• Experience in mentoring staff or providing advanced support to peers.

• Proven ability to tackle complex or ambiguous technical and instructional challenges.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365.

• Strong technical troubleshooting abilities and systems thinking.

• Expertise in authoring platforms such as Articulate Rise and Storyline.

• Capability to manage complex issues across systems and stakeholders.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Skill in identifying and implementing process enhancements.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while making informed decisions in a remote environment.
