This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Act as Ratehub’s foremost authority on mortgages and real estate.
• Represent the brand during media engagements and assist Communications with expert insights, data, and timely commentary.
• Engage in video production and media interviews with both on-camera and microphone presence.
• Create and write precise, timely original content for media contributions, landing pages, blog posts, newsletters, videos, and social media platforms.
• Generate market-relevant analyses reflecting rate changes, current market conditions, and consumer demands.
• Collaborate with the mortgage brokerage team to interpret rate trends, lender strategies, and market changes into content updates.
• Update and maintain blogs, FAQs, landing pages, and other existing content.
• Implement SEO and GEO best practices, particularly for landing pages and high-traffic pages.
• Establish, document, and maintain Ratehub’s editorial voice and style guidelines.
• Create editorial policies, workflows, and governance frameworks.
• Oversee the editorial and social media calendar.
• Review, edit, and approve the work produced by writers, freelancers, and subject matter experts.
• Maintain comprehensive editorial oversight on Canadian personal finance subjects.
• Manage content quality assurance, including fact-checking, link auditing, structural reviews, and scheduled updates.
• Use organic traffic, keyword rankings, GEO metrics, engagement, and conversion data to prioritize and identify content gaps.
• Brief, onboard, and supervise freelance contributors.
• Collaborate with product, design, marketing, and data teams to ensure that content accurately reflects live product and rate information.
• Lead the production of sponsored content and coordinate between partnership and content teams.
• 6–10 years of editorial experience.
• Proven expertise in personal finance content; a focus on mortgage or real estate is strongly preferred.
• Experience in a digital-first media setting, fintech, financial services, or a high-volume content operation.
• Post-secondary education in journalism, communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling skills for complex financial topics.
• Knowledge of Canadian mortgage products, rate structures, lending regulations, and real estate.
• Capacity to manage a high volume of content across articles, landing pages, newsletters, social media, and video scripts.
• Strong understanding of Canadian AP or CP style with experience in maintaining internal style guides.
• Familiarity with SEO principles, including keyword research, on-page optimization, internal linking, and content structuring.
• Knowledge of GEO and AI-powered search technologies.
• Proficiency in using Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Semrush, PEEC, or similar platforms.
• Ability to analyze content performance data and translate it into editorial priorities.
• Experience mentoring content writers or strategists.
• Experience in briefing and managing freelance contributors.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and analytics teams.
• Strong project management skills in handling competing deadlines and stakeholders.
• Experience as a brand spokesperson or subject matter expert in media contexts.
• Proficient in CMS platforms such as WordPress.
• Proficient with project management tools like Asana or Notion.
• Familiarity with AI writing and editing tools with responsible editorial practices.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
