This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Contribute creative editorial concepts during the planning phase of projects.
• Conduct research, compose, and refine manuscripts with minimal oversight.
• Review and edit all stages of product page development.
• Align state objectives with pertinent core-program content.
• Implement state objectives and testing frameworks in content evaluation and vendor work.
• Adhere to established protocols and company regulations.
• Ensure that assignments fulfill project requirements and deadlines.
• Maintain communication with the supervisor regarding feedback and performance evaluations.
• Refer budget or scheduling matters to the supervisor and offer recommendations when feasible.
• Provide precise updates on assignment status.
• Monitor reading levels, content accuracy, relevance, unbiased presentation, and teachability.
• Draft art specifications for artists, topographers, and photo researchers.
• Assess sketches and art proofs, assisting in photo selection.
• Assist in overseeing external developers.
• Engage in project planning and propose innovative ideas based on market trends and customer needs.
• Aid in the creation of cutting-edge K-12 digital and/or print instructional resources.
• At least 5 years of experience in curriculum development or the creation of instructional materials for social studies, including some experience with K-5 curriculum.
• Project management experience is preferred.
• Teaching experience is highly desirable.
• Understanding of educational methodologies and instructional design within the realm of social studies.
• A graduate or undergraduate degree with a major or minor in history, economics, English, education, anthropology, ethnic studies, geography, second language acquisition, or related disciplines.
• Awareness of contemporary youth culture, popular trends, and learning motivations among young learners.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and their Google equivalents.
• Knowledge of differentiation strategies, scaffolding for multilingual learners, and UDL/content accessibility.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in editing, grammar, and adherence to style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style.
• Understanding of print and digital instructional material production processes.
• Capability to write, edit, and revise content to meet standards of accuracy, style, grade level, and market requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently, with minimal supervision and in ambiguous situations.
• Strong prioritization, multitasking, deadline management, and quality maintenance skills.
• Aptitude for utilizing constructive feedback, participating in meetings, and fostering teamwork.
• Ability to anticipate, assess, and resolve workflow challenges proactively.
