This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop large-scale, real-time services and applications that utilize extensive datasets for both internal APIs and external applications.
• Create tools, libraries, frameworks, and services that support initiatives in security, research, and the data platform.
• Transform prototypes into dependable internal tools, services, or platform functionalities.
• Engage in planning and technical discussions with the engineering and product teams.
• Design and maintain data pipelines, messaging systems, databases, caching layers, and both cloud-based and on-premises services.
• Work collaboratively with Machine Learning Engineers and Security Researchers on solutions that impact security outcomes.
• Take into account ongoing maintenance, monitoring, delivery, developer experience, and future extensibility.
• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience in building distributed systems.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming; Censys primarily uses Go.
• Experience with at least one cloud service provider, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with message queue technologies, such as AWS Kinesis, Google Pub/Sub, or Kafka.
• Proficient in working with databases like BigTable, Cloud Spanner, HBase, or Cassandra.
• Knowledge of scalability, fault tolerance, and reliability principles.
• Familiar with AI technologies.
• Capability to write clear, testable, and maintainable code.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and product managers.
• Willingness to use AI responsibly to enhance efficiency and impact.
• Knowledge of gRPC or REST protocols.
• Familiarity with data serialization technologies such as Protobuf or MessagePack.
• Experience in building, deploying, or maintaining containerized services using Kubernetes.
• Understanding of Internet communication protocols and standards.
• Knowledge in the security domain is advantageous.
