This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop technologies that enable Netflix to efficiently scale content and business operations on a global scale.
• Create and maintain a robust, scalable, and highly available infrastructure, with an emphasis on developer experience, observability, and operational excellence.
• Investigate thoroughly to identify problems and customer pain points, providing solutions through the use of suitable technologies.
• Advocate for high-quality code and adhere to engineering best practices.
• Contribute to career growth through mentoring and assist in the development of technical communities.
• Define the technical direction for engineering projects and make architectural choices.
• Influence partner and cross-functional teams effectively.
• Engage in the on-call rotation and lead incident reviews.
• Support products and services aimed at optimizing and automating content planning, financing, production, promotion, and distribution.
• 5+ years of experience in developing complex distributed systems.
• Recent expertise in Java, C#, or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented design principles, concurrency, multi-threading, performance tuning, and observability.
• Established history of architecting, building, and managing distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and excellent performance.
• Considerable experience in defining technical directions for engineering projects, making architectural decisions, and influencing partner and cross-functional teams.
• Capability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to various stakeholders, facilitating discussions and decisions through written and/or verbal communication.
• Involvement in an on-call rotation and leadership in incident reviews.
• A product-oriented mindset regarding infrastructure and platforms.
• Experience in formulating long-term technical strategies that align with business objectives through appropriate technology investments.
• Proficient in gRPC and/or GraphQL API design and implementation.
• Practical experience with Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Memcached, and/or AWS.
• Familiarity with library development and dependency injection frameworks, preferably Spring Boot.
• Utilize AI-assisted coding tools to enhance the software development lifecycle.
• Actively explore and assess new AI-driven development tools to increase team productivity and operational efficiency.
