Distributed Systems Engineer, Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop large-scale, real-time services and applications that utilize extensive datasets for both internal APIs and external applications.

• Create tools, libraries, frameworks, and services that bolster security, research, and data platform projects.

• Transform prototypes into dependable internal tools, services, or platform functionalities.

• Engage in planning and technical discussions alongside engineering and product teams.

• Design and sustain data pipelines, messaging systems, databases, caching layers, and services either in the cloud or on-premises.

• Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers and Security Researchers to create solutions that enhance security outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on building distributed systems.

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming; Censys primarily utilizes Go.

• Familiarity with at least one cloud service provider, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Experience or knowledge of message queue technologies, including AWS Kinesis, Google Pub/Sub, or Kafka.

• Background in working with databases like BigTable, Cloud Spanner, HBase, or Cassandra.

• Understanding of concepts like scalability, fault tolerance, and reliability.

• Awareness of using AI technologies.

• Capable of writing clear, testable, and maintainable code.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and product managers.
