Senior Distinguished Engineer – Global Payment Network

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Clearly communicate and promote an ambitious technical vision across various domains and essential platforms.

• Suggest practical and operational solutions for intricate issues that fulfill functional specifications while ensuring high performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with executive leaders in business, product, and technology to determine strategic investment pathways and make impactful technical choices.

• Propel the adoption of agentic AI and implement reusable frameworks across engineering teams and priority investments.

• Enhance the quality of technical design and implementation while mitigating technical debt and improving customer experience.

• Act as a recognized authority on performance, reliability, scalability, and operability.

• Acquire and apply new technical skills while driving the organizational integration of AI-powered engineering.

• Manage multiple simultaneous projects, transitioning between in-depth technical solutions and overarching strategic objectives.

• Spearhead technology-led innovation, guide organizations, and mentor personnel across engineering, business, and product sectors.

• Develop solutions for core payment network products, streamline global participant integration, and introduce new features.

• Utilize automation and AI-driven engineering to enhance high-throughput transaction processing and improve fraud and risk management capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• A minimum of 9 years in software engineering.

• At least 7 years of experience in designing distributed systems.

• A minimum of 7 years working with public cloud technologies.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Preferred: Over 12 years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Design.

• Preferred: More than 10 years of professional coding experience in widely used languages such as Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Swift.

• Preferred: Over 10 years of professional experience throughout the complete system development lifecycle.

• Preferred: At least 7 years of experience with high-performance and resilient systems.

• Preferred: More than 8 years of experience with public or private cloud technologies.

• Experience with payments, money movement, and relevant standards like PCI-DSS.

• Experience utilizing interactive AI tools beyond basic code completion.
