This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and refine the design vision and strategy for Alteryx’s product offerings, particularly focusing on AI-driven and agentic user experiences.
• Serve as a design representative in senior leadership discussions, advocating for user-centric results and maintaining high design quality.
• Collaborate with product management, engineering, and executive leaders on roadmaps, prioritization, and key product decisions.
• Convert customer insights, telemetry, Voice of Customer feedback, and findings from preview programs into actionable design directions.
• Create and manage the operational framework for a globally distributed design team consisting of 30 members.
• Oversee staffing, capacity planning, prioritization frameworks, and design operations across four teams and various product lines.
• Implement processes for design discovery, design review, and seamless engineering handoff.
• Define and uphold design metrics and quality standards.
• Incorporate AI into the design methodology.
• Manage budget, tools, and relationships with contractors and vendors.
• Mentor and oversee four design leaders.
• Foster a culture of rigorous critique and high standards in craftsmanship.
• Advocate for career development paths, leveling, and growth plans for design professionals.
• Assist the team in crafting agentic and AI-enhanced experiences.
• Over 15 years of experience in product design.
• More than 6 years in leadership roles managing design managers or leads.
• Experience in a SaaS or enterprise software environment.
• Proven ability to lead multiple design teams concurrently across a diverse product portfolio.
• Experience with complex, technical, or data-intensive products is a significant advantage.
• Passion and a strong perspective on designing AI-powered and agentic experiences.
• Capability to shape strategy alongside executives while providing hands-on design feedback.
• Experience in building and managing design operations at scale, including resource models, metrics, review schedules, and tools.
• Experience in managing distributed global teams across various time zones.
• Familiarity with design systems, accessibility, and localization principles.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence peers and executives without formal authority.
• Collaborative mindset and a strong partnership with product, experience & insights, and engineering teams.
