This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• Oversee enterprise portfolio risk management and performance evaluation across various products, distribution channels, and geographic regions.
• Guide the execution and governance of underwriting strategies, including frameworks for pricing, eligibility, and exceptions.
• Utilize advanced analytics and modeling techniques to inform critical underwriting decisions and risk management practices.
• Supervise the creation and implementation of models, forecasts, and simulations.
• Convert intricate analytical concepts into actionable business strategies for reserving, pricing, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Product and Actuarial teams to shape product strategy by assessing the financial and risk impacts of product modifications.
• Create scalable processes, tools, and governance structures to enhance consistency and efficiency.
• Mentor and develop underwriting talent while providing leadership.
• Deliver executive-level reports and insights to senior management.
• Consult with executive leadership to cultivate a high-performing underwriting organization.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in underwriting, portfolio management, product management, risk management, actuarial roles, or related insurance fields.
• At least 4 years of relevant leadership experience.
• Experience managing portfolio performance and profitability across various products, programs, markets, or distribution channels.
• Proven leadership experience with direct people management responsibilities.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive business strategies and operational execution.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage analytics and performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
• Extensive understanding of underwriting principles, portfolio management, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including expertise in forecasting, modeling, and trend analysis.
• Capability to interpret complex financial, actuarial, and underwriting data and translate insights into business strategies.
• Ability to balance growth aspirations with profitability and risk management objectives.
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills at the executive level.
• Proven success in leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing overall organizational outcomes.
