This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Ensure superior underwriting excellence by providing management and tactical guidance for Cyber Liability lines of business.
• Lead the formulation and execution of strategic and operational goals for Cyber Liability lines in alignment with the company's strategic vision.
• Assign underwriting authority appropriately.
• Validate underwriting referrals.
• Take proactive measures to attain targeted underwriting performance and efficiency.
• Evaluate risk tolerance, market dynamics, and emerging risk factors.
• Perform internal underwriting peer reviews to guarantee adherence to corporate standards and best practices.
• Act as a liaison with carrier partners, including reinsurers, on underwriting issues.
• Discover new underwriting opportunities and keep track of market trends, competitor movements, and industry developments.
• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team on the development and execution of business and talent strategies.
• Meet leadership team KPIs while ensuring effective communication, alignment of team objectives, and organizational goals.
• Oversee a team of underwriters and loss control representatives.
• Conduct interviews, hiring, training, assigning, directing, appraising, rewarding, and disciplining of staff.
• Address grievances and resolve issues promptly.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent qualification.
• A Master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred.
• Generally, a minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience is required.
• At least 10 years of management experience is essential.
• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is preferred.
• Proficient understanding of underwriting practices and knowledge in the insurance sector.
• Extensive comprehension of critical issues in related fields.
• Exceptional communication skills for fostering consensus among various teams and areas of influence.
• Strong leadership and management capabilities, exemplifying integrity and professionalism.
• Proven ability to drive results by identifying and addressing significant challenges within the scope of responsibility.
• Advanced knowledge of the insurance industry, along with its products and services.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software is necessary.
• Capability to remain seated for extended periods at a desk and work on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
