Senior Director, Transformation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Oversee a portfolio of Medicaid implementation projects from the signing of contracts through to steady-state operations.

• Develop implementation strategies, delivery roadmaps, governance frameworks, project management methodologies, stage gates, and delivery approaches.

• Provide executive oversight by tracking project health, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and quality indicators.

• Manage escalation processes, coordinate production issues, facilitate war rooms, create action plans, and ensure accountability during crises.

• Drive execution across development, QA, DevOps, operations, system architecture, integrations, release management, defect remediation, testing, and production support.

• Organize executive steering committees, governance reviews, and program status meetings.

• Maintain client expectations and relationships throughout the implementation process.

• Assist with proposal, transition, and contract expansion activities as a delivery subject matter expert.

• Collaborate with finance and business leadership on project costs, revenue, and margin transparency.

• Identify and manage risks, challenges, dependencies, and changes in scope.

• Lead recovery initiatives for at-risk programs and implement corrective action plans.

• Create a high-performing implementation organization that emphasizes accountability, execution discipline, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Utilize implementation metrics such as claims inventory, defect trends, payment cycle performance, provider impacts, SLAs, and federal reporting status to guide discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 15 years of leadership experience managing large-scale Medicaid or similar technology implementations.

• Proven experience leading Medicaid, healthcare payer, MMIS, eligibility, provider, claims, pharmacy, or government modernization projects.

• Ability to manage extensive portfolios, engage with executive stakeholders, oversee complex budgets, and lead geographically dispersed teams.

• Outstanding executive communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.

• PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, MES, MITA, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certifications are preferred.
