This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the daily execution of technology delivery, operational performance, governance of delivery, and management of escalations within the technical portfolio.
• Direct application development, automation, platform development, integration delivery, release management, and application support for clinical business solutions.
• Convert business strategies, product roadmaps, requirements, and priorities into actionable delivery plans, estimates, staffing models, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture and solution architects to ensure alignment of solutions with architecture, security, data, integration, resiliency, and technology standards.
• Establish and implement software development lifecycle practices utilizing Agile, DevOps, testing, change control, release management, documentation, and quality assurance.
• Take ownership of portfolio scope, schedule, resources, dependencies, risks, issues, quality, financial performance, and communication with stakeholders.
• Spearhead the execution of automation strategies, including workflow automation, process optimization, reusable capabilities, controls, monitoring, and sustainable support models.
• Provide interim leadership for the platform development team while recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring its future manager.
• Oversee application support and service operations, addressing incidents, problems, requests, changes, releases, root cause analysis, service levels, availability, and continuous improvement.
• Create dashboards and conduct operating reviews assessing delivery, quality, application health, service levels, capacity, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Manage capacity, workforce, succession, and sourcing strategies across employees, contractors, managed services, and vendors.
• Lead and mentor technical managers, leads, engineers, developers, automation specialists, analysts, and support professionals.
• Handle technology vendors and delivery partners, focusing on performance, statements of work, deliverables, service levels, financial aspects, risks, and corrective measures.
• Ensure adherence to security, privacy, HIPAA, audit, data governance, business continuity, and regulatory standards.
• Provide executive-level reporting, recommendations, decision support, and escalation of significant risks and delivery challenges.
• Promote continuous improvement, standardization, automation, and reuse to enhance delivery speed, quality, reliability, transparency, and business value.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, healthcare administration, or a related field; relevant experience may be accepted as a substitute for education.
• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in technology delivery, software engineering, application development, automation, platform operations, or application support.
• At least 7 years of experience leading managers and multidisciplinary technical teams within an enterprise context.
• Proven accountability for a substantial application or technology portfolio, encompassing delivery, operations, budgets, vendor management, workforce planning, and executive stakeholder relations.
• Extensive knowledge of application development, automation, integrations, APIs, cloud and hosted platforms, DevOps, testing, release management, observability, and production support.
• Strong command of portfolio, program, project, financial, resource, vendor, risk, and service management practices.
• Executive presence with outstanding verbal, written, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, employing a data-driven approach.
• Ability to build, coach, and retain high-performing teams while developing managers and technical leaders.
• A master’s degree and relevant certifications are preferred.
• Experience in healthcare technology, enterprise transformation, platform modernization, vendor implementations, SAFe Agile leadership, organizational change, and knowledge of healthcare privacy/security/compliance are preferred or strongly preferred.
