Executive Director – Digital Product, Medical Cost Initiatives

📋 Description

• Direct the technology product strategy and implementation for medical cost portfolios, which include Care Transitions, Patient Segmentation, Chronic Condition Pathways, and Specialty Care Services.

• Collaborate with leadership in healthcare delivery to develop comprehensive care models.

• Act as a strategic advisor to business stakeholders, ensuring that technology teams provide solutions that align with business objectives.

• Define shared outcome metrics related to clinical quality, patient experience, and financial performance.

• Lead cross-functional teams composed of product managers, Epic analysts, software engineers, data scientists, and designers.

• Convert clinical concepts into problem statements, product specifications, and Epic/technology frameworks.

• Incorporate external data sources, including claims data, remote monitoring, and health plan feeds, into internal Epic workflows.

• Manage the technology lifecycle from identifying problems to developing solutions, building, deploying, and realizing measurable outcomes.

• Create feedback mechanisms and cycles for continuous improvement.

• Ensure solutions are scalable across both Value-Based Care and Fee-for-Service contexts.

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate high-performing product and cross-functional technology teams.

• Promote a culture characterized by curiosity, resilience, problem-solving, and joy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required.

• 10-15+ years of advancing leadership experience in healthcare operations, clinical technology product management, and the implementation of enterprise EHR systems, particularly Epic.

• Proficiency in value-based care models and Epic as a fundamental care delivery platform.

• Practical experience with Epic EHR workflows and module configurations.

• Experience in translating operational needs into Epic builds.

• Knowledge of how external health data enhances EHR clinical workflows.

• Extensive understanding of clinical operations, Quality Improvement practices, Value-Based Care frameworks, Fee-for-Service operational dynamics, and medical cost initiative care pathways.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in delivering large-scale technology-driven clinical interventions.

• Established history of collaborating with primary care delivery networks, retail clinics, or value-based care organizations to enhance medical cost trends and clinical care pathways.

• Demonstrated executive presence with the capacity to communicate, influence, and build trust with both senior executives and frontline team members.

• Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to turn ambiguous clinical challenges into structured problem statements.

• Proven leadership abilities and a talent for building high-trust teams.

• Willingness to travel domestically, typically around once per quarter.
