📋 Description

• Lead, oversee, and nurture a team of field-based Medical Affairs professionals focused on health systems.

• Recruit, onboard, train, mentor, and assess Payer & Health Systems Medical Affairs Directors.

• Manage performance in accordance with objectives and competencies, utilizing field observations, coaching visits, discussions, feedback, and metric analysis.

• Develop and track individual development plans.

• Supervise portfolio product launches and medical affairs strategies for in-line products.

• Implement medical affairs strategies and prioritize accounts within payer and health systems.

• Deliver insights to headquarters based on input from internal and external health-system stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Commercial, Country Medical Affairs, V&I Global Medical, Value Capabilities, and Outcomes Research leadership.

• Oversee strategic account plans and medical account plans.

• Partner on national and regional medical account coverage initiatives.

• Monitor the healthcare landscape and allocate medical affairs resources accordingly.

• Facilitate communication with senior leadership at headquarters for key accounts.

• Represent the Payer & Health Systems team in cross-functional workstreams.

• Ensure adherence to regulations, company policies, ethical standards, and standard operating procedures.

• Support the development and implementation of the Payer & Health Systems medical account plan across various portfolios and account segments.

• Direct medical account planning and management for prioritized regional health-system accounts.

• Contribute to annual resource allocation and medical meeting coverage strategies.

• Provide project support to the Country Medical Affairs organization.

• Assist in annual budget planning and support team budget management.

• Review and authorize routine expense reports.


⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced healthcare/science doctoral degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD).

• At least three (3) years of experience in a customer-facing, field medical affairs role or relevant experience.

• Extensive knowledge of the health systems environment, including payers and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs).

• Familiarity with medical account management principles and practices.

• Comprehensive understanding of the U.S. healthcare delivery system's structure, function, and population health.

• An AI-first mindset with a willingness to learn and adopt AI-enabled approaches.

• Exceptional interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to lead across a comprehensive product portfolio and diverse customer segments.

• Proven success in managing cross-functional leadership relationships.

• Personal integrity, a collaborative mindset, business acumen, and a strong customer focus.

• Knowledge of U.S. regulatory bodies, local regulatory agencies, and ethical guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry.

• Ability to organize, prioritize, work efficiently in a dynamic environment, and inspire a team.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).

• Capability to utilize technical platforms for gathering, reviewing, and disseminating medical information and executing team tasks.

• Preferred: Five years of experience in a field-facing role.

• Preferred: Experience in front-line management leading field medical colleagues working with payers or health systems.

• Preferred: Knowledge of pharmacoeconomics, quality management, value-based payment, and healthcare delivery policies and trends.
