Regional Medical Scientific Director, MSL, COPD/Respiratory

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Build and nurture professional relationships with national and regional Scientific Leaders.

• Facilitate peer-to-peer scientific discussions and deliver approved medical and scientific information.

• Respond to scientific inquiries while directing out-of-scope questions to the appropriate company resources.

• Stay updated on the scientific and clinical landscape pertaining to COPD/Respiratory.

• Initiate scientific and data exchanges with prospective investigators, evaluating research alignment, study concepts, scientific merit, and qualifications.

• Deepen understanding of the foundations and objectives of investigator-sponsored research.

• Identify challenges related to patient enrollment and retention.

• Suggest study sites and pinpoint potential investigators for Phase II-IV clinical development programs.

• Conduct Site Initiation Visits.

• Act as protocol lead in collaboration with Global Clinical Trial Operations.

• Address inquiries from investigators and provide information regarding Company-sponsored clinical studies.

• Participate in scientific congresses and medical meetings, facilitating scientific and data exchanges.

• Collect scientific insights on the medical or scientific needs, priorities, and concerns of Scientific Leaders and/or patients.

• Serve as a liaison between the scientific community and the Company.

• Assist with onboarding and share therapeutic expertise with colleagues in the field medical team.

• Comply with field and corporate policies, GMSA strategy, SOPs, GCP guidelines, and administrative/operational duties.

• Operate independently and collaboratively as a team member, exemplifying integrity, inclusion, and empowerment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside within the Chicago (IL, WI, IA, MN, SD) region.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the designated territory.

• Required credentials: PhD, PharmD, DNP, DO, or MD.

• Advanced Practice Providers or individuals with an MS in a healthcare discipline may be considered if they have relevant experience.

• At least 3 years of pertinent therapeutic area experience beyond what is acquired in the terminal degree program, e.g., COPD/Respiratory.

• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and networking abilities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills grounded in principles.

• Capability to engage in doctoral-level discussions with key external stakeholders.

• Commitment to scientific excellence with a strong emphasis on scientific education and dialogue.

• Comprehensive understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations pertinent to the pharmaceutical industry and its clientele.

• Ability to organize, prioritize, and function effectively in a dynamic environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote).

• Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms.

• A valid driving license is required.

• Preferred qualifications include field-based medical experience, research experience, and a demonstrated record of scientific/medical publications.
