Senior Director, Strategic Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement new procedures and enhance financial controls to ensure the robustness and stability of the increasingly complex business.

• Own and lead the financial planning and budgeting processes.

• Determine resource allocation and steer Ethos’ growth and direction.

• Develop and oversee essential financial performance metrics.

• Manage corporate reporting obligations to the Board of Directors and Executive Team, including tracking company-level KPIs, performance against plans, and budget versus actual variance analysis.

• Contribute to the design and deployment of accounting and planning tools such as NetSuite and Pigment.

• Drive strategic and operational initiatives.

• Provide business analytics and insights for decision-making related to unit economics, customer acquisition, operations, core business expansion, and new opportunities.

• Utilize data-driven analysis to influence decisions and assist leadership in assessing strategic initiatives.

• Scale and enhance corporate finance functions.

• Collaborate with business partners to develop strategic analyses on critical business initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 12 years of relevant experience in Corporate Finance / FP&A / Strategic Finance, ideally including 3+ years at publicly traded companies or late-stage pre-IPO firms.

• Previous experience in investment banking and/or private equity / growth equity is an advantage.

• Exceptional Excel skills with extensive experience in developing insightful financial models and quantitative analyses.

• Strong critical thinking abilities and sound business judgment.

• Prior experience in building and leading finance teams.

• Proven history of identifying and implementing AI tools in finance workflows to enhance efficiency and decision-making.

• Expertise in creating new processes within an enterprise financial planning system (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan).

• Self-motivated individual with a proven success record and the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks while meeting deadlines.

• Eagerness to take ownership and drive projects from Day 1.

• Excellent communication skills coupled with effective cross-functional collaboration.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• In-depth understanding of valuation methods and strong working knowledge of GAAP.
