Senior Director, Strategic Alliances, Enterprise Lead

📋 Description

• Act as the primary enterprise-level liaison for the global partnership with Thermo Fisher Scientific.

• Represent argenx as a results-driven partner, safeguarding enterprise value by minimizing fragmentation and fostering collaborative behaviors.

• Collaborate with the Breakthrough Partner Lead to synchronize alliance strategy, governance, priorities, and partner engagement.

• Link argenx teams and leadership with Thermo Fisher's capabilities throughout the partnership portfolio.

• Define enterprise objectives and priorities while addressing duplication, conflicting priorities, and misalignment issues.

• Set decision-making authority, escalation pathways, leadership cadence, and ensure clarity of shared roles.

• Maintain operational rhythms with the Breakthrough Partner Lead and escalate any cross-functional challenges as needed.

• Co-develop and advance a multi-year alliance strategy and narrative of enterprise value.

• Convert Thermo Fisher's capabilities into actionable operating models.

• Assist teams in transitioning from transactional interactions to co-creation, sustainable innovation, and enhanced enterprise value.

• Create a comprehensive partnership model that integrates capabilities, governance, decision-making, and innovation pathways.

• Identify and prioritize forward-looking innovation opportunities and novel partnership methodologies.

• Serve as a trusted thought partner for argenx leadership and senior counterparts at partner organizations.

• Facilitate connections between initiatives, discussions, and insights across various teams.

• Navigate trade-offs with transparency, humility, and a broad enterprise perspective.

• Significant experience in leading and enhancing complex, enterprise-critical partnerships across multiple functions in a global, highly regulated context.

• Strong enterprise orientation and capability to influence long-term organizational impacts through strategic alliances.

• Capacity to foresee future partnership requirements, emerging operational models, and ongoing value creation opportunities.

• Proven experience in integrating diverse stakeholders and partner capabilities around shared objectives, clear decision rights, and enabling governance.

• History of identifying opportunities for innovation, simplification, and growth through collaboration and co-creation.

• Ability to convert partnership insights into scalable improvements for the enterprise.

• Demonstrated cultural leadership aligned with the argenx Way of Partnering.

• Background in biopharma, life sciences, healthcare, or another adjacent, highly regulated, and innovation-focused industry.

• Experience working in complex, matrixed, and global organizational settings.

• Proven experience operating at a senior leadership level across multiple functions and external partner organizations.

• Established track record of leading complex, enterprise-critical partnerships that span various capabilities, business areas, and global regions.

• Experience in shaping partnerships towards value creation, co-innovation, decision-making clarity, and scalable enterprise impact, including governance, operating models, and performance management.

• Proven ability to influence decisions and outcomes without formal authority.

• Competence in functioning effectively within highly matrixed and ambiguous environments.

• Typically, a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic partnerships, alliance management, business development, enterprise strategy, or similar enterprise-level roles.

• An advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
