This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Enhance state policy frameworks and strengthen advocacy across a range of states
• Implement long-term advocacy initiatives and address immediate crises as they arise
• Collaborate with state partners and internal teams in policy, advocacy, legal, communications, and development
• Partner with state associations and allied organizations to enhance state policy frameworks
• Lead direct advocacy efforts on the ground to advance pro-charter legislation in key states
• Strengthen the capacity of state associations in policy, advocacy, legal, communications, and development
• Forge local partnerships with allies
• Mobilize diverse coalitions to advocate for policy objectives
• Develop tools and resources for state charter school associations and partner organizations
• Collaborate with communications, development, legal, research, state, and federal teams
• Create fundable programs, draft donor progress reports, and manage cross-team grant deliverables
• Act as the sector expert and primary resource for advocacy concerning public charter schools
• Bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is advantageous
• At least seven years of experience in advocacy
• Strong knowledge and experience in advocacy
• Proven experience working with state and local partners to achieve objectives
• Comfortable engaging with key stakeholders and fostering honest, productive relationships
• Commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for children
• Belief in robust public school options and accountability as essential aspects of reform
• A diagnostic mindset, creativity, and the courage to take calculated risks
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and operate independently
• Passion, purpose, entrepreneurial spirit, and a track record of achievements
• Willingness to travel frequently for work, including occasional short-notice trips
• Experience with 501(c)(4) and 527 organizations and independent expenditure campaigns is a plus
• Experience in fundraising and donor relations is a plus
