This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Drive and enhance business performance for the Rare Disease business unit.
• Lead a high-achieving national field sales team focused on the Sickle Cell market.
• Develop, implement, and oversee sales strategies and initiatives aimed at increasing market awareness, market share, sales, revenue, and profitability.
• Serve as a member of the Rare Disease Leadership Team.
• Recruit, build, and manage Sickle Cell Region Directors and the Sales organization.
• Supervise the Commercial Execution team for Sickle Cell Disease.
• Lead the Sickle Cell sales team and ensure exceptional execution.
• Achieve or exceed key performance indicators.
• Foster an engaged, inclusive, and customer-focused organization.
• Establish and monitor policies regarding resource utilization, systems, administration, and compliance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance commercial effectiveness and operations.
• Align sales efforts with marketing strategies, overseeing messaging, training, and execution.
• Assess the training needs of the sales organization and implement appropriate solutions.
• Build the sales leadership team and promote a winning culture.
• Develop strategies for market growth and establish relationships for current and new products.
• Ensure comprehensive business plans, sales planning, budgeting, profitability targets, and risk management are in place.
• Ensure sales personnel receive the training, coaching, and resources necessary to meet targets.
• Implement target lists, call planning, and metrics for field organization.
• Understand customer needs and integrate them into brand strategies.
• Evaluate resource usage, review and audit expense reports, and operate within budget constraints.
• Build relationships with external customers, thought leaders, advocacy organizations, and stakeholders.
• Provide direction, inspiration, and motivation to the Sickle Cell Sales team.
• Ensure that reporting personnel maintain development plans, annual objectives, learning plans, and interim reviews.
• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare sales is required.
• At least 6 years of prior experience in people management is required.
• 3 years of experience in a Director-level management role is required.
• Experience with product launches is required.
• Experience in Orphan/Rare Disease or Specialty sales is highly preferred.
• An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
• Cross-functional experience in various areas is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in building new teams and enhancing organizational capabilities is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to travel overnight 60–70% of the time is required.
