Senior Director – Regional Medical Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and coach a national team of 7 Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs)

• Conduct regular field visits and individual meetings to provide observations, feedback, and guidance for career development

• Utilize data, dashboards, and performance trends to monitor and enhance team performance

• Implement inclusive leadership strategies to attract, retain, and inspire a diverse, high-achieving team

• Convert therapeutic area and Medical Affairs strategies into actionable regional priorities and objectives

• Ensure the execution of field medical programs, including product launches, proactive initiatives, clinical education, and scientific exchange

• Act as a scientific leader and strategic partner in disease-state knowledge, product information, and evidence generation

• Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of Medical Insights

• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, and other internal teams to align field activities with corporate objectives

• Facilitate compliant communication with cross-functional partners

• Lead or engage in company initiatives

• Ensure that MSL activities and communications are ethical, compliant, and meet regulatory standards

• Uphold professional standards, accountability, and performance integrity

• Leverage evidence and AI-informed data to drive team decisions and enhance engagement strategies

⛳️ Requirements

• An advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) is required

• A minimum of 8 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing a field-based MSL team and 5 years in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector

• Significant leadership experience in solid tumor oncology, including pre-launch and launch experience, is mandatory

• Recent experience in Lung Cancer is highly preferred

• A proven history of building and optimizing field medical teams, supporting product launches, and managing through leaders

• Experience in a biotech or fast-paced, evolving environment is preferred

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

• Excellent communication/influence skills and executive presence; a hands-on leadership approach

• Resilience, composure, and effective decision-making in a dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities

• Ability to excel in a matrixed, cross-functional environment

• Demonstrated capability to motivate, develop, and retain high-performing teams

• Willingness to travel up to 70% as necessary
