Senior Director, Real World Evidence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the Real-world Evidence team at Adaptive Biotechnologies.

• Develop, refine, and utilize Adaptive’s real-world data strategy to support, validate, and articulate the scientific and clinical significance of its products.

• Position Adaptive as a frontrunner in generating rigorous, reproducible, and regulatory-grade evidence.

• Articulate the vision, key priorities, and roadmap for Adaptive’s real-world data platform and evidence generation efforts.

• Assemble the necessary cross-functional team and establish partnerships to implement the real-world data strategy.

• Collaborate with teams across Product Management, IT Engineering, R&D, Medical Affairs, Customer Operations, Market Access, Commercial Technology Strategy, and Legal.

• Direct the strategy for leveraging real-world data to enhance the clinical and commercial potential of Adaptive products.

• Influence enterprise data strategy and pinpoint opportunities for corporate growth, market differentiation, and strategic collaborations.

• Define and manage evidence roadmaps that support clinical decision-making, regulatory and payer engagement, market access, and physician adoption.

• Convert product, clinical, and commercial priorities into RWE strategies, study concepts, data requirements, analytical approaches, timelines, and resource allocations.

• Prioritize initiatives across various disease indications and external pharmaceutical partnership prospects.

• Build, lead, and nurture a team of RWE Analysts and data engineers.

• Oversee functional operating budgets, external data investments, technology expenditures, and strategic partnership allocations.

• Specify data requirements, data models, and governance necessities for key real-world data applications.

• Guide the development and curation of both internal and external real-world data sources, including clinical data partnerships and linked datasets.

• Supervise statistical analysis plans and analytical methods for RWE studies.

• Ensure studies adhere to standards of reproducibility, transparency, scientific rigor, and stakeholder relevance.

• Translate study findings into scientific and business recommendations.

• Create presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, and materials intended for external audiences.

• Serve as a thought leader in real-world data and evidence generation, representing Adaptive externally.

• Set team objectives, provide coaching and constructive feedback, and cultivate an environment of belonging, respect, and open communication.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in biostatistics, epidemiology, health economics, bioinformatics, data science, or a related quantitative discipline.

• 14+ years of experience with an MS, or 10+ years with a PhD, in real-world data, healthcare data strategy, diagnostics, or life sciences.

• Proven experience managing subordinate managers.

• Demonstrated capability to define and implement a real-world data strategy that supports clinical, scientific, regulatory, payer, commercial, and external partnership goals.

• Experience in building and leading cross-functional teams across product, analytics, engineering, scientific, and business sectors.

• In-depth knowledge of real-world data sources, including electronic health records, health information exchange data, insurance claims data, registries, genomic data, and linked datasets.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, foster stakeholder alignment, and advance complex initiatives from strategy to execution.

• Expertise in data quality assessment, validation, governance, and curation workflows.

• Proficient in establishing and maintaining reproducible coding practices and scalable analytical processes.

• Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills with executive, technical, scientific, clinical, commercial, and external partner audiences.
