Senior Director, People Partner – Sales

📋 Description

• Act as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the Chief Revenue Officer and the Sales Leadership Team.

• Oversee, mentor, and develop a team of People Partners supporting the Global Worldwide Field organization.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of enterprise-level business operations, including pipeline dynamics, quota structures, GTM strategy, and competitive positioning.

• Link hiring, performance, and organizational design decisions to revenue, retention, and customer-impact outcomes.

• Participate in and contribute to QBRs, operating reviews, and quarterly attainment and performance review sessions.

• Counsel the CRO on workforce implications arising from significant go-to-market and company-level strategic decisions.

• Manage a 6–12 month workforce strategy for the Global Field Organization, including scenario modeling and organizational design assessments.

• Take ownership of the enterprise talent strategy, encompassing pipeline strength, succession gaps, and talent investment priorities.

• Develop and lead executive-level talent review and succession-planning initiatives.

• Drive talent actions within Sales, focusing on accelerating high performers, addressing underperformance, and decreasing regrettable attrition.

• Oversee the strategy for cultural health through diagnostics, change programs, and leadership accountability.

• Model and coach open, courageous conversations regarding culture, behavior, and accountability.

• Manage people analytics, tracking attrition, ramp time, performance distribution, and spans/layers.

• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and People Centers of Excellence.

• Align with functional and regional People Partner counterparts.

• Ensure the Sales People Partner team remains focused on strategic initiatives while redirecting transactional tasks to HR Centers of Excellence and HR Operations.

• Lead or participate in transformation, restructuring, and M&A integration efforts impacting Global Sales.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 15 years of relevant People Partner / HR Business Partner experience, with a bachelor's degree; or 15 years with a master's degree; or a PhD with 12 years of experience; or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Extensive experience directly managing personnel, including building, coaching, and overseeing a team of People Partners or HR Business Partners.

• Proven experience functioning as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to C-suite / CxO-level executives and their leadership teams.

• Experience supporting a global sales, go-to-market, or revenue-generating organization is strongly preferred.

• Previous experience in a technology company is required.

• Experience in a cloud, SaaS, or platform-as-a-service environment is preferred.

• A bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.

• Expert-level experience in people leadership and management, including performance management, coaching/mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.

• Ability to offer expert opinions, advice, analysis, and recommendations to senior executives.

• Proven capability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with senior company leaders.

• Expertise in leading complex organizational change initiatives and project management.

• Business fluency regarding financial drivers, market dynamics, and product/customer lifecycle.

• Data fluency, including scenario planning and predictive attrition/risk analysis.

• Executive presence and ability to influence.

• Experience in establishing succession pipelines and promoting performance differentiation.

• Deep understanding of employee engagement and performance-management best practices.

• Capability to develop organizational and talent plans.

• Awareness of external customer, competitive, industry, and sales/GTM market trends.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Legal authorization to work in the job location.
