This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead the policy and research team at ESP in collaboration with the Vice President of Policy and Research.

• Oversee the department's strategy, priorities, budget, and the growth of program managers.

• Manage workflows related to research, policy products, and events.

• Coach, mentor, and enhance the skills of program managers.

• Participate in the Senior Team, integrating campaigns, communications, and development efforts.

• Formulate both short-term and long-term strategies for policy and research.

• Initiate, plan, and carry out federal and state policy projects.

• Supervise commissioned research in collaboration with external partners.

• Generate and distill research findings, policy briefs, and factsheets.

• Assist in writing and preparing materials for events and media engagements.

• Contribute to fundraising through donor communication and meetings.

• Ensure high methodological standards, analytical precision, and compelling arguments.

• Lead initiatives and partnerships aimed at garnering support for economic policy concepts.

• Provide technical support to policymakers and partner organizations.

• Organize workshops, convenings, and meetings with stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven history of leading projects and developing team members, with an inclination towards formal management of a diverse group.

• Expertise in economic security policy.

• Knowledge of regulations, competition, social insurance, taxes, and wages.

• Strong editing and persuasive writing abilities tailored for policy and public audiences.

• Demonstrated leadership skills and the capability to influence others on key issues.

• Extensive experience in collaborating with policy experts, legislative personnel, and government officials regarding economic policy.

• Familiarity with quantitative methods and statistical programming languages like R, Stata, or Python.

• Awareness of current economic trends and discussions.

• Understanding of the economic policy landscape in Washington, DC, including think tanks and advocacy groups.

• Experience in managing departmental or project budgets.

• Ability to analyze research, legislation, and white papers and convey their implications effectively.

• Comfort with public speaking and delivering policy presentations.

• A collaborative, strategic, and solutions-oriented mindset.

• A proactive, rigorous, and outcome-driven work approach.
