📋 Description

• Enhance and maintain the quality and integrity of AP Program examinations, course curriculum, and professional development materials.

• Oversee the development and management of items from creation to administration across various AP course subjects.

• Collaborate with and train subject-matter experts, including university professors and high school educators.

• Incorporate AI technologies into the creation and review of assessments while ensuring fairness, validity, and innovation.

• Educate SMEs on assessment development protocols and facilitate communication between academics and psychometricians.

• Create formative assessment materials and resources for AP Science and Life Science instructors globally.

• Act as a liaison for subject-matter expert committees and communities.

• Promote the strategic expansion of AP Science and Life Science on an international scale.

• Direct the development and final approval of assessment items and forms.

• Supervise the authoring, revision, creation, and management of both formative and summative assessment content and scoring resources.

• Oversee the creation of assessment forms that align with approved curricula and testing specifications.

• Facilitate face-to-face, weekend, and virtual meetings for the Test Development Committee.

• Train and directly supervise members of the Test Development Committee.

• Organize annual AP Reading scoring events and produce publications for educators and students.

• Contribute to research and best practices in assessment.

• Provide leadership, training, mentoring, and consultation across different subjects in assessment.

• Enhance item development task models, processes, exam design, and the use of generative AI.

• Oversee the validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and reader reliability of exams.

• Initiate improvements for AP Biology and Environmental Science examinations.

• Work with psychometrics staff to set fair, reliable, and valid cut scores.

• Refine the frameworks and learning outcomes for AP Science and Life Science courses.

• Support the development and market testing of new AP Biology and Environmental Science products and prototypes.

• Travel for business purposes and engage in AP Reading.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field (required).

• Awareness of current trends in the relevant field.

• Proficient knowledge in Biology or Environmental Science.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in standardized assessment development or similar roles.

• Preferred experience with digital assessment and teaching methodologies.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Solid technical skills.

• A customer-oriented approach.

• Exceptional organizational and planning capabilities.

• Ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining a keen attention to detail, including proofreading.

• Proven track record of implementing processes and procedures.

• Experience in managing project plans and schedules while maintaining tracking documentation.

• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

• Ability to effectively engage with individuals at all levels and provide as well as receive constructive feedback.

• Willingness to travel 6–8 times per year, with an additional two weeks for the AP Reading.

• Must be authorized and eligible to work in the United States.
