This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Safeguard and enhance the quality and integrity of AP Program examinations, course curricula, and professional development materials.
• Oversee the development and final approval of assessment items and forms in AP Art History and History-Social Science.
• Create, review, modify, and manage both formative and summative assessment content along with scoring resources.
• Appropriately utilize generative AI for the creation and evaluation of assessment materials.
• Collaborate and train with subject-matter experts, including college professors and high school educators.
• Facilitate communication between academic authorities and psychometricians.
• Design assessment forms that adhere to approved curricula and testing specifications.
• Lead in-person, weekend, and virtual Test Development Committee sessions.
• Organize agendas, adjust meeting strategies, and address content revisions post-meeting.
• Mentor and supervise members of the Test Development Committee.
• Direct annual in-person and online AP Reading scoring events.
• Strategize and implement AP Reading workflows and subsequent activities.
• Generate AP Reading publications for educators and students.
• Contribute to research and best practices in assessment.
• Provide operational leadership for cross-subject assessment initiatives.
• Train and guide Course Experts in the areas of assessment development and committee management.
• Develop task models, training for item development, and assessment protocols.
• Enhance question task models and exam structure in collaboration with AP leadership.
• Monitor the validity, security, reliability, fairness, quality, and consistency of exams.
• Spearhead efforts to elevate assessment quality and establish fair, reliable, and valid cut scores in partnership with psychometric staff.
• Refine the AP Art History and History-Social Science Course Framework.
• Collaborate on new AP offerings, prototypes, market evaluations, and instructional materials.
• Present, speak, and facilitate discussions with academic and membership audiences when necessary.
• A Master’s degree in Art History or a closely related field is required.
• A Doctorate in the field is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in standardized assessment development or a related area.
• In-depth knowledge of Art History and History-Social Science.
• Awareness of current trends in Art History.
• Experience with digital assessments and educational methodologies is preferred.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong technical skills.
• A customer-focused approach.
• Outstanding organizational and planning capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail, including proofreading tasks.
• Demonstrated competence in implementing processes and procedures, managing project timelines, and maintaining documentation.

• Ability to effectively engage with all organizational levels and provide constructive feedback.
• Willingness to travel 6-8 times a year, plus an additional two weeks for the AP Reading.
• Must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States.
