Senior Director, Global Deal Desk – Commercial Strategy

📋 Description

• Lead Alteryx’s global Deal Desk organization and oversee the quote-to-order commercial governance model across all regions.

• Build, develop, and manage a high-performing global team, including Directors, regional leaders, and individual contributors.

• Establish scalable organizational structures, operating models, and processes to support company growth and adapt to evolving business models.

• Advise executive leadership on intricate deal structures, commercial risks, and operational scalability.

• Promote consistency, accountability, and operational excellence within deal approval and contract governance.

• Supervise the review, approval, and governance of complex and non-standard customer agreements.

• Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Finance, Revenue Accounting, Product, Business Operations, Business Systems, and IT.

• Provide insights on revenue recognition and accounting implications associated with contract terms and pricing structures.

• Lead escalations and make decisions for high-impact enterprise and strategic customer deals.

• Assess multi-year, multi-product, and consumption-based SaaS agreements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.

• Foster continuous improvement throughout the quote-to-order lifecycle.

• Enhance automation, workflows, and tools across Salesforce, ERP, and contract management platforms.

• Develop metrics, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to evaluate Deal Desk effectiveness.

• Identify bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions that support global growth.

• Champion process standardization while allowing for regional flexibility.

• Support executive decision-making with data-driven insights and risk assessments.

• Collaborate with Internal Audit and Controllership to ensure SOX and internal controls compliance.

• Contribute to the development of policies related to deal governance, contracting standards, and commercial operations.

• Encourage accountability, customer focus, operational rigor, and a culture of continuous improvement.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• Over 12 years of progressive experience in Deal Desk, Revenue Operations, Revenue Accounting, Commercial Operations, or related roles within a high-growth SaaS or technology company.

• More than 5 years of experience leading global teams, including the management of managers and senior-level leaders.

• Strong expertise in SaaS business models, enterprise deal structuring, and quote-to-order operations.

• Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and the revenue recognition implications of commercial contracts.

• Proven track record of partnering with executive leadership and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.

• Strong operational mindset with a history of successfully leading transformation and scalability initiatives.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.

• Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution in a dynamic environment.

• Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, CPQ, and contract lifecycle management systems is highly preferred.

• Capacity to comply with U.S. export controls.
