Senior Director, Data Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Offer strategic leadership and technical guidance to the Data Management division.

• Create the ideal operational structure to ensure the delivery of high-caliber Data Management work within set timelines.

• Provide global oversight across various locations and countries, including strategic direction and change management initiatives.

• Formulate strategies for Data Management and Database Programming systems along with resource requirements.

• Monitor departmental effectiveness utilizing quality and efficiency metrics alongside customer feedback.

• Supervise departmental budgets and project PPRs, ensuring compliance with trial budgets and timelines.

• Allocate personnel and assign responsibilities based on their expertise.

• Manage, coach, mentor, and conduct performance evaluations and developmental reviews.

• Identify training needs within the department and either provide or source appropriate training.

• Offer advice on general and project-specific Data Management matters.

• Design solutions that satisfy Data Management, clinical trial management, and clinical data requirements.

• Collaborate with technology and scientific/medical colleagues.

• Serve as the primary point of contact and escalation for Sponsor personnel.

• Ensure that departmental SOPs and non-project procedures are drafted and maintained.

• Guarantee compliance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines, SOPs, and Sponsor stipulations.

• Assist in Business Development efforts, bids, proposals, and Bid Defence meetings.

• Provide technical Data Management guidance to other departments.

• Represent Data Management capabilities within Worldwide.

• Work closely with Sponsor and regulatory authority auditors, implementing recommendations in collaboration with senior management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess a degree or equivalent qualification.

• A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in Data Management.

• Experience in clinical drug development.

• Background in software or application development and deployment.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Exceptional time management skills with the ability to create, follow, and lead project plans.

• Capability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.

• Adaptable and innovative approach with sound independent judgment and initiative.

• Demonstrated leadership and management abilities.

• Strong working knowledge of Data Management Systems and principles.

• Proven capability to design and/or develop Data Management solutions implemented in clinical trials.

• Familiarity with guidelines and regulations pertinent to technology and programming deployment in clinical development programs.

• Comprehensive understanding of budgets, revenue recognition, and invoicing processes.

• Organizational skills aligned with the strategic vision of the organization.
