Senior Director, Customer Insights and Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create and execute a comprehensive analytics strategy focused on consumers and AI for LillyDirect.

• Establish the strategic vision and roadmap for analytics within LillyDirect.

• Supervise the development of dashboards, KPI tracking, and collaborative data efforts with CI&A, Tech@Lilly, and Finance.

• Set the analytical agenda for the product and marketing departments of LillyDirect.

• Build, expand, and lead a top-tier business analytics team that supports both US and OUS markets.

• Recruit, train, mentor, and retain analytics talent while developing leadership pipelines.

• Ensure that business recommendations and solutions are based on evidence and analytics.

• Foster accountability and operational excellence, including timely delivery and upkeep of an operations calendar.

• Collaborate with Lilly BI&A to replicate and disseminate best practices.

• Provide objective metrics to assess overall business performance and specific areas within LillyDirect.

• Deliver data-driven insights and suggestions to the leadership of LillyDirect.

• Support data-driven decision-making and promote the adoption of analytics recommendations.

• Advocate for solutions that enhance outcomes and assist LillyDirect in achieving its objectives.

• Oversee the development and delivery of AI tools and analytics products from concept to launch.

• Ensure the quality and reliability of analytics products through thorough testing and validation.

• Report directly to the CFO of LillyDirect.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Over 5 years of experience leading analytics teams.

• More than 10 years of experience in analytics, data science, statistics, or computer science.

• Practical experience with SQL and at least one modern BI/visualization platform, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

• MBA or an equivalent advanced degree is preferred.

• Leadership experience in analytics or data science within an ecommerce, healthcare technology firm, digital health platform, or health-tech startup/scale-up is preferred.

• Experience with direct-to-consumer or direct-to-patient business models is preferred.

• Experience in both health-tech and pharmaceutical environments is particularly valued.

• Proven experience in building and leading business analytics teams in dynamic, high-growth settings.

• Familiarity with cloud data warehouses and product/experimentation analytics tools for consumer-facing A/B testing and cohort analysis.

• Ability to think strategically and operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while managing multiple priorities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying analytics concepts clearly and influencing senior-level decisions.

• Consistent track record of utilizing data to drive decision-making.

• Successful experience in leading and delivering complex projects across highly matrixed, multi-functional teams.

• Broad understanding of advanced analytics areas including experiment design, artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, optimization, and predictive analytics.

• Working knowledge of healthcare data privacy and regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA.

• Experience integrating privacy-by-design and data governance practices into analytics products utilizing consumer health data.

• A growth mindset with the ability to develop scalable systems and processes while adapting to a rapidly evolving health-tech environment.

• Must be willing to work during PST hours.

• Travel up to 10%, primarily domestic, based on business requirements.
