Senior Director, Content Strategy – Corporate Communications

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Oversee the integrated Content Strategy and Corporate Communications department.

β€’ Convert ConnectWise business objectives into a coherent, consistent, and measurable content and communications framework.

β€’ Direct the evolution and governance of narratives, oversee content strategy, editorial direction, executive communications, thought leadership, public relations, internal and partner communications, social and community engagement, reputation reporting, crisis communications preparedness, and communications operations.

β€’ Manage a diverse team of content and communications specialists.

β€’ Develop the operating model, tools, reporting systems, AI-driven workflows, and governance structures necessary to enhance quality, speed, consistency, stakeholder alignment, reputation visibility, partner experience, and measurable business outcomes.

β€’ Take ownership of the implementation of the content and communications strategy, operating plan, and roadmap in line with ConnectWise priorities.

β€’ Govern ConnectWise messaging across various platforms, including brand, product, partner, event, executive, demand generation, social media, PR, internal communications, and sales/partner enablement content.

β€’ Provide editorial guidance for blogs, long-form content, executive thought leadership, event materials, partner-focused communications, internal updates, media resources, and reputation-sensitive messaging.

β€’ Supervise leaders in content, public relations, social media, experiential content, and editorial production.

β€’ Lead the strategy for executive communications and thought leadership in collaboration with executives, agencies, and stakeholders.

β€’ Manage reporting and analysis on content performance, share of voice, sentiment, reach, engagement, media quality, social/community insights, executive visibility, and communications engagement.

β€’ Direct the strategy, preparedness, monitoring, escalation, execution, and post-incident learning for crisis communications.

β€’ Establish reputation-monitoring and automation operating models across media platforms, social channels, Reddit, online communities, and third-party forums.

β€’ Create and optimize tools, dashboards, AI-enabled workflows, automation processes, templates, playbooks, intake systems, governance structures, review cycles, and measurement rhythms.

β€’ Lead, prioritize, mentor, and coach team members; clarify roles, objectives, development plans, decision-making authority, operational rhythms, and success metrics.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

β€’ Over 10 years of pertinent experience in content strategy, corporate communications, public relations, executive communications, internal communications, editorial, brand, product marketing, integrated marketing, content operations, or related fields; experience in SaaS is preferred.

β€’ At least 4 years of experience in people management, including leading a small to medium-sized multidisciplinary team; experience managing or mentoring a second-line leader is preferred.

β€’ Background in B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, IT management, managed services, enterprise software, MSP/managed services, or partner/channel-led businesses is preferred.

β€’ Proven track record of advising executives, managing agency/vendor relationships, and collaborating across functions such as Marketing, Product, Sales, People/HR, Legal, Security, Customer Success, Partner Experience, Support, and Events.

β€’ Experience in creating and governing content across various formats, including blogs, long-form assets, executive thought leadership, PR/media relations, crisis communications, social media, internal communications, partner-facing materials, campaign content, events, and sales/partner enablement.

β€’ Demonstrated success in leading teams to achieve strong outcomes while enhancing tools, workflows, reporting, editorial standards, communications readiness, and operational rhythm.

β€’ Writing samples are required.

β€’ Exceptional skills in leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, customer/partner orientation, cross-functional collaboration, and executive influence.

β€’ Strong editorial judgment with the ability to simplify complex technical, product, platform, AI, partner, operational, and reputational topics into clear, audience-relevant content and communications.

β€’ Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

β€’ Capability to establish and govern narratives, messaging frameworks, editorial standards, style guides, content workflows, communications playbooks, review cycles, and approval processes.

β€’ Strong analytical skills and comfort with data to assess content and communications performance.

β€’ In-depth knowledge of PR, media relations, crisis/issues management, internal communications, partner/customer communications, executive communications, content strategy, social/community engagement, and reputation management.

β€’ Moderate to high proficiency in strategically utilizing AI tools.

β€’ Familiarity with content management, project management tools such as Asana and Monday, media monitoring, social listening, email communications, SharePoint, DAM platforms, SEO/content optimization, marketing automation/CRM, analytics, and dashboard/reporting tools.

β€’ Ability to work independently under pressure in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

β€’ Strong organizational skills, tact, discretion, emotional intelligence, practical judgment, and interpersonal skills.

β€’ Approximately 15% travel may be necessary for team meetings, executive meetings, ConnectWise events, industry conferences, and media or speaking engagements.

β€’ Core working hours are preferred to align with Eastern Time.

β€’ Availability outside of regular business hours may be required for time-sensitive communications, crisis response, executive communications, events, launches, or regional needs.
