This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a newly formed engineering team dedicated to enhancing content management capabilities that serve various business units across Oura.
• Set the technical vision for a CMS platform that facilitates publishing across multiple web properties and channels.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to grasp content workflows, publishing requirements, governance needs, and potential platform enhancements.
• Make architectural and implementation decisions for both front-end and back-end systems, prioritizing scalability, maintainability, reliability, and user-friendliness.
• Develop engineering practices that focus on system design, delivery, observability, quality, and operational excellence.
• Mentor engineers through the processes of technical design, execution, and iteration while establishing standards for teamwork and accountability.
• Engage in technical problem-solving, design evaluations, and crucial implementation choices.
• Balance immediate delivery for prioritized surfaces with long-term investments in the platform.
• Cultivate productive relationships across Commerce and related business and technical teams.
• Over 8 years of engineering experience.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams, encompassing technical direction, delivery planning, and personnel management.
• Familiarity with content management systems, including platform selection, implementation, integration, customization, or evolution in a multi-team setting.
• Strong technical expertise across the technology stack, with the capability to work effectively in both front-end and back-end codebases.
• Experience in designing and managing systems on modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals, including system design, APIs, integrations, data flows, security considerations, and operational reliability.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and align various stakeholders around platform direction, tradeoffs, and execution strategies.
• Comfort in navigating an ambiguous environment where team dynamics, platform boundaries, and roadmaps are still being defined.
• Nice to have: experience in building or supporting multi-site, multi-channel, or headless CMS architectures.
• Nice to have: experience collaborating with marketing, content, digital, or web teams on publishing workflows and content operations.
• Nice to have: experience in e-commerce, growth, or customer-facing web platforms.
• Nice to have: familiarity with modern web architecture, experimentation, personalization, SEO, and considerations for content performance.
