Senior Director, Cloud Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive cloud operations for Foundant's SaaS product offerings.

• Ensure the availability, performance, and dependability of products that serve clients.

• Lead the management of availability incidents, encompassing triage, resolution, root cause analysis, and presentations for incident reviews and RCA.

• Supervise configuration and change management in both automated CI/CD and traditional release environments.

• Manage infrastructure hosting expenses across regions including the US, Canada, EU, Australia, and the UK.

• Achieve a balance between performance, regional compliance requirements, and infrastructure expenditures.

• Build and lead a small team of system administrators and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs).

• Mentor the team towards technical excellence and shared accountability.

• Collaborate with Development, Technical Security, and Support teams to ensure operational readiness, incident response, and effective handoffs.

• Establish and continually enhance practices for monitoring, alerting, and performance management.

• Translate Foundant's strategic vision into a cloud operations strategy across five distinct products.

• Set and uphold standards for availability and performance using data and monitoring tools.

• Make prompt decisions during live availability incidents and clearly communicate root causes and operational changes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in cloud operations or infrastructure leadership.

• At least 5 years in a director-level capacity.

• Extensive hands-on expertise in operating and troubleshooting multi-cloud environments, particularly AWS and Azure.

• Proven experience managing availability and performance for SaaS products deployed across various geographic regions.

• Familiarity with regional data residency and compliance issues in the US, Canada, EU, UK, and Australia.

• Experience in leading availability incident management and conducting root cause analysis for production environments.

• Knowledge in overseeing configuration and change management across infrastructure-as-code/CI-CD and traditional manual release processes.

• Experience in managing cloud infrastructure hosting costs at scale, including forecasting and cost optimization.

• Proven ability to build, manage, and develop teams of system administrators and/or Site Reliability Engineers.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
