This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Oversee the strategic direction and administration of the Presale business sector.
• Ensure that RFP and Proposal inquiries for all products are addressed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Actuary, Sales, and other key business divisions.
• Manage presale workflows and processes effectively.
• Deliver competitive, comprehensive, and precise RFPs and Proposals.
• Lead the operations of the Presale team across intake, quoting, RFPs, testing, peer reviews, and new technology implementation.
• Maintain best practices and operational excellence through an efficient internal presale support process.
• Identify and resolve conflicts between departments.
• Develop a talent pipeline and ensure sufficient resources to meet customer demands and business cycles.
• Monitor workflow and oversee team performance, addressing issues and conflicts constructively.
• Create and sustain training programs for diverse levels of complexity.
• Administer budgets and resources to meet objectives.
• Track and evaluate capabilities, capacity, and output data.
• Generate reports to monitor customer trends.
• Serve as an expert resource for senior management and product owners.
• Establish team identity and foster momentum towards a collective purpose.
• Develop operational plans that align with the strategic vision of the business unit/function.
• Provide individual and group feedback to enhance employee development and departmental performance.
• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; relevant experience may be considered as a substitute.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience is required.
• Experience in people leadership is essential.
• Background in quoting/RFP or managing a complex team, including managers, is required.
• Specific experience with Life & Supplemental Health products is necessary.
• Strong understanding of process improvement and change management theories and techniques is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency with Salesforce reporting tool and MS Office Suite is required.
• Experience with data analytics and PowerBI is preferred.
• Familiarity with Salesforce and Workday is also preferred.
• Successful candidates must be bondable.
