Senior Director, Business Development – Clinical Trials

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Cultivate and develop relationships with key decision-makers in biotech and pharmaceutical firms.

• Oversee a designated territory by creating a robust sales pipeline, progressing sales opportunities, and enhancing relationships with previously unidentified accounts.

• Leverage established connections with pharmaceutical and biotech organizations.

• Generate new leads and prospects by analyzing industry activities, conducting preliminary research, and initiating phone contact.

• Evaluate qualified sales leads from inside sales, trade shows, referrals, and other avenues.

• Spearhead new business development initiatives.

• Organize corporate meetings and exhibitions.

• Represent Elligo Health Research at local, national, and international conferences.

• Generate and secure business by aligning clinical trial opportunities with Elligo sites.

• Mentor Directors and Associate Directors within the Business Development team.

• Anticipate customer challenges and offer solutions, information, and guidance.

• Suggest new opportunities, profit enhancements, and service improvements.

• Establish and maintain industry and client contacts.

• Create and update customer profiles in the contact management system.

• Stay informed about Elligo Health Research services, competitor offerings, and market and industry trends.

• Formulate account strategies for suitable customers.

• Read, comprehend, and comply with organizational Standard Operating Procedures.

• Assist in creating and enforcing departmental standards.

• Engage in the modification of company SOPs related to Business Development.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is mandatory.

• A minimum of 8 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical/research site sector is required.

• At least 3 years of clinical research experience is preferred.

• Operations experience in clinical trials is advantageous.

• Comprehensive understanding of the research and pharmaceutical sectors, including relevant terminology and practices.

• Demonstrated proficiency in presenting and negotiating.

• Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet stringent deadlines.

• Proficiency in cold calling.

• Availability during core hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Ability to work 37.5 hours weekly to uphold full-time status.

• Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary.

• Minimal travel is expected.
