📋 Description

• Lead the strategy for proposal responses for the Assessment and Psychometrics teams, ensuring that Curriculum Associates' assessment products meet state and district requirements.

• Oversee the development and continuous management of the proposal response process.

• Convert technical documentation into proposal text, standard assessment boilerplate, and technical reference materials.

• Manage assessment boilerplate content, technical documentation libraries, and version control as products, analyses, and research findings progress.

• Utilize AI-assisted tools to expedite proposal drafting, boilerplate creation, and technical documentation workflows, ensuring expert review for precision and thoroughness.

• Collaborate with teams across Assessment, Psychometrics, Marketing, Bids and Proposals, Sales, and other departments.

• Act as a key intermediary between psychometric expertise and the needs of documentation, proposals, and strategic communication.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in psychometrics and assessment to identify proposal deficiencies, devise robust solutions, and offer guidance on products and implementation.

• Communicate market requirements and assessment capability gaps found in proposals to the wider Assessment team to inform strategic decisions.

• Review requests for proposals, information, and qualifications with a focus on psychometric and assessment design.

• Guide the communication of assessment, research, and implementation topics for the bids and proposals team.

• Lead and contribute to publications that undergo third-party review, technical reports, and conference presentations.

• Represent Curriculum Associates as a thought leader at NCME, CCSSO, AERA, and other conferences focused on educational measurement.

• Demonstrate responsible AI adoption and promote AI fluency across analysis, writing, communication, and technical project management.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Educational Measurement, Psychometrics, or a closely related field is required; alternatively, a Master’s level qualification along with relevant K-12 assessment experience will be accepted.

• At least 5 years of experience in technical writing related to assessments.

• Profound expertise in psychometrics and educational measurement.

• Practical experience with item response theory, test development, validity, reliability, and standard setting.

• Proven ability to analyze, synthesize, and convert complex psychometric technical materials into accessible language for district, state, and policy audiences.

• Expertise in K-12 assessment design and technical content.

• Knowledge of Classical Test Theory, Item Response Theory, Computer Adaptive Testing, Standard Setting, Field Testing, Scaling and Equating, Reliability, Validity, Classification Accuracy, and bias and DIF analyses.

• Demonstrated experience in communicating about K-12 digital assessment and learning with district or state-level audiences.

• Experience utilizing AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot for proposal development, technical writing, and documentation management.

• Strong analytical, critical, and creative thinking capabilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and proactively, manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, anticipate and resolve issues, and generate innovative solutions.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across various departments and business units with differing priorities.

• A curiosity and initiative to acquire new information, technologies, and skills.

• Preferred: experience in educational publishing proposal writing, particularly for state or large district RFPs.

• Preferred: peer-reviewed publications or professional conference presentations in educational measurement, psychometrics, or K-12 assessment.

• Preferred: operational K-12 assessment experience, including test development, standard setting, or technical manual preparation.

• Preferred: familiarity with state and national educational assessment policies and trends.
