Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Engage in discovery, migration design, automation, pilot migration, migration phases, cutover, validation, rollback, and stabilization efforts.

• Strategize and implement migrations for GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Organizations.

• Transition GitHub repositories, workflows, runners, permissions, environments, variables, and secrets.

• Assist in the migration and reconfiguration of GitHub Actions and related CI/CD systems.

• Migrate and verify GitHub Apps, webhooks, OAuth integrations, and OIDC settings.

• Develop automation for migration tasks utilizing scripting and Infrastructure as Code.

• Provide support for AWS cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes/EKS, Jenkins, and relevant platform integrations.

• Diagnose migration challenges and maintain platform stability throughout and following the migration process.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to guarantee successful execution and validation of migrations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering, with substantial recent expertise in GitHub and CI/CD.

• Extensive hands-on experience managing GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Organizations at an enterprise scale, covering repositories, permissions, environments, variables, and secrets.

• Documented experience with large-scale GitHub repository and workflow migrations, encompassing GitHub Actions, runners, and workflow reconfigurations.

• Familiarity with OIDC, GitHub Apps, webhooks, and OAuth integrations.

• Strong proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure automation.

• Experience in designing and migrating CI/CD pipelines and platforms, such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.

• Background in Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and AWS infrastructure.

• Scripting and automation expertise using Python, Bash, or similar technologies.

• Practical experience throughout the complete migration lifecycle, including discovery, migration design, automation, pilot migration, migration phases, cutover, validation, rollback, and stabilization.

• Experience managing migration projects involving hundreds or thousands of repositories.

• Knowledge of GitOps and FluxCD.

• Familiarity with AWS CodeBuild.

• Experience with Git submodules and intricate repository dependencies.

• Experience with SSO/identity migration and related migration tools.
