DevOps Engineer, Akamai/Terraform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Develop Python automation tools to oversee secure cloud infrastructure and essential networking elements.

• Enhance and optimize the Akamai CDN for reliable, secure, and low-latency global asset delivery.

• Manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt, provisioning cloud environments and edge configurations.

• Implement and automate edge security measures, including DNS routing, proxies, WAF, and bot management.

• Establish best practices for CDN usage.

• Simplify complex networking concepts for both technical and leadership stakeholders.

• Provide support for critical production environments within an Agile, large-enterprise framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated senior-level expertise in Cloud Infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps in a large enterprise setting.

• 2–3+ years of recent, hands-on experience in supporting and configuring CDNs, specifically with Akamai.

• Strong practical skills with Terraform and Terragrunt for managing cloud environments.

• Proficient coding abilities in Python.

• Familiarity with JavaScript and Shell scripting.

• Comprehensive understanding of DNS, proxies, and edge security, including WAF and bot management.

• Experience in supporting, monitoring, and operating critical production environments.

• Insight into the network-level operations of large-scale websites.

• Excellent communication skills and experience working within Agile frameworks.

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Must reside in Portugal.

• Experience with Git, contemporary automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong foundation in general DevOps principles and practices.

• Availability for occasional national/international travel (0–15%) based on project requirements.
