Senior Software Engineer – Developer Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and re-engineer the end-to-end CI/CD pipeline across three programming language ecosystems.

• Analyze where engineering resources are utilized through discussions and data, addressing the most significant inefficiencies.

• Develop internal tools that enhance engineers' workflows and are widely adopted.

• Minimize flaky tests, reduce slow feedback loops, and eliminate delivery bottlenecks between systems.

• Measure delivery metrics, utilize them to inform decisions, and track progress.

• Enhance the local development environment and streamline the onboarding process.

• Intentionally integrate AI-assisted development into the existing workflow.

• Engage in on-call support for the systems that you build.

• Manage systems that transition software from commit to production using GitLab CI and Octopus Deploy across .NET, Python, and Svelte.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with CI/CD ownership: you have designed and reconstructed pipelines, not merely utilized them.

• Strong software engineering skills; capable of writing code that earns respect from peers.

• Proven experience with pipelines that serve multiple language ecosystems, managing dependency caches, and test runners within a unified release process.

• Proficient in DORA metrics, including their instrumentation, interpretation, and application to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code and containerization.

• An ownership mentality and experience managing a pager for the systems you have built.

• Ability to influence how engineers operate through mentoring, improved tools, clear communication, and established credibility.

• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools.
