Senior Developer Relations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish Backblaze B2's presence among developers within the agentic stack.

• Collaborate with the internal AI team to create and implement a strategy tailored for agent readiness across engineering, documentation, and content.

• Align engineering, documentation, content, solutions engineering, and other teams towards a cohesive developer strategy.

• Disseminate the outputs of the developer strategy to a wider audience.

• Cultivate credibility within communities such as GitHub, Discord, open source projects, developer events, and AI infrastructure tools.

• Amplify internal technical voices and foster thought leadership.

• Collaborate with ecosystem partners.

• Sustain a feedback mechanism from developers to the product and engineering teams.

• Identify challenges in adoption, unmet integration requirements, and emerging priorities.

• Leverage the Flamethrower Startup Program for initial feedback from early adopters.

• Establish success metrics, including developer signups, activation rates, B2 adoption in AI frameworks, community engagement, and content reach.

• Link awareness metrics to revenue and conversion rates.

• Begin as an individual contributor while influencing existing company resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience in DevRel, developer marketing, or developer experience leadership at a cloud infrastructure, open source, or AI tooling organization.

• Proven track record of building or significantly expanding a developer program.

• Insight into how agentic workflows are transforming developer discovery and infrastructure integration.

• Technical credibility: capable of reading a codebase, assessing an SDK, writing a functional integration, and discussing engineering trade-offs.

• Background as a software engineer or in a closely related technical position.

• Experience in environments where large teams are not present or have been initiated.

• Excellent communication skills with both developers and leadership.

• Established presence in developer communities, evidenced by a following, conference talks, open source contributions, or a technical blog.

• Direct experience with model training, data processing, or generative media is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot is a notable plus.

• Experience with open source AI/ML frameworks such as MLflow, DVC, Ray Data, WebDataset, and MosaicML Streaming is highly desirable.

• Previous experience in a startup or developer program is a substantial advantage.
