Senior Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate at the intersection of Product Design and Frontend Engineering.

• Transform design concepts into refined, production-ready experiences.

• Navigate between Figma and code, addressing specification gaps and making informed technical and design decisions.

• Influence the user experience of complex product deliveries.

• Work closely with designers and engineers.

• Take ownership of the quality of customer-facing deliverables.

• Gain insights into the product, customers, and teams.

• Acquaint yourself with the design system, component library, and frontend technology stack.

• Engage with customers to grasp their needs.

• Contribute to and take charge of design engineering initiatives.

• Oversee projects from design to implementation.

• Identify opportunities to create customer-value solutions.

• Elevate the standards for interaction quality, frontend craftsmanship, accessibility, and implementation excellence.

• Play a role in evolving the design system, shared components, reusable patterns, tooling, and design-to-code workflows.

• Drive product enhancements from the exploration phase through production and iterations.

• Champion craftsmanship, customer value, and sound technical judgment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building significant production UI and bridging design with frontend engineering in complex product settings.

• Capability to convert design intent into high-quality production experiences with a strong focus on layout, typography, interaction, motion, responsiveness, accessibility, and attention to detail.

• Proficient in writing clear and maintainable frontend code.

• Ability to analyze state, component architecture, performance, testing, and edge cases.

• Strong design judgment with the capacity to make decisions in the face of incomplete specifications or constraints.

• Systems thinking, understanding when to reuse, extend, or create new patterns and abstractions.

• Skill in balancing customer value, design quality, technical feasibility, scope, and risk.

• Close collaboration with Design and Engineering, ensuring quality throughout implementation and follow-up.

• Effective communication in a remote, asynchronous work environment.

• Proficient with modern tools, including AI-assisted development, while being capable of understanding, evaluating, debugging, and refining shipped work.

• Enthusiastic about RevenueCat’s mission to empower developers to increase their revenue.

• Experience in personally writing and shipping production frontend code.

• Comfortable working hands-on with contemporary frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript.
