This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver engineering and consulting solutions for transportation initiatives and clients.
• Conduct and/or oversee field investigations, engineering assessments, calculations, and recommendations.
• Design and create plans and specifications.
• Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
• Draft, prepare, and review associated reports.
• Develop proposals and cost estimates.
• Track and assess project progress and budgets, suggesting modifications as necessary.
• Investigate and resolve design and construction challenges.
• Assign, review, and analyze laboratory or field data for reports.
• Articulate complex engineering topics to both technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
• Prepare site characterization reports detailing geotechnical and geological conditions along with project risks.
• Provide geotechnical guidance for earthwork, bridge and wall foundations, and retaining walls.
• Conduct external stability, settlement, and rotational stability analyses in line with code requirements.
• Lead safety initiatives and quality assurance efforts.
• Plan, schedule, execute, and coordinate engineering tasks.
• Offer technical direction for unique or intricate projects.
• Oversee design or investigative strategies for significant transportation projects.
• Supervise activities, allocate resources, and assign responsibilities.
• Review complex investigations and technical documentation.
• Coordinate financial management, invoicing, and collections with the lead project accountant.
• Facilitate technical training and mentor project team members.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• At least 8-11 years of experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
• Experience with transportation projects and Department of Transportation (DOT) is essential.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory violation record.
• Capability to work remotely from any location within the US.
• Proficiency in managing all facets of a geotechnical engineering project, including project teams.
• Preferred experience in Project Management and/or technical leadership for large-scale transportation projects.
• Expertise in engineering analysis, calculations, recommendations, design, and the development of plans and specifications.
• Familiarity with external stability, settlement, and rotational stability analyses.
• Ability to identify geotechnical risks that could impact design and construction costs or schedules.
