Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, assess, and recommend engineering solutions.

• Develop project scopes and associated budgets.

• Draft scopes and specifications for vendors and contractors.

• Review proposals and provide informed recommendations.

• Establish project timelines.

• Work in coordination with personnel from plants or paper mills.

• Oversee contractor activities.

• Diagnose and resolve equipment downtime and production challenges.

• Direct capital and maintenance projects from inception to completion, encompassing planning, design, budgeting, execution, and troubleshooting.

• Produce AutoCAD drawings, which include general arrangements, conceptual layouts, piping schematics/isometrics, and fundamental civil/structural construction drawings.

• Formulate actionable recommendations based on sound engineering principles.

• Coordinate and lead contractors and engineering teams across various projects.

• Ensure project delivery is on schedule and within financial limits while upholding high-quality standards.

• Compile reports and presentations grounded in data analysis and project results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial paper, corrugating, or design engineering sectors.

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a talent for influencing and collaborating.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD (or similar software).

• Willingness to travel extensively (80%) – at least 3 weeks per month.

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
