Staff Mechanical Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance to both business and manufacturing operations.

• Assess, select, and implement standard engineering methods, procedures, and criteria.

• Formulate, assess, and recommend project engineering solutions.

• Develop project scopes and financial plans.

• Draft vendor and contractor scopes along with specifications.

• Review proposals and provide recommendations.

• Oversee multiple capital and maintenance projects from planning to execution and troubleshooting.

• Produce AutoCAD drawings, general arrangements, conceptual layouts, piping schematics/isos, and fundamental civil/structural construction drawings.

• Ensure safety during the installation and implementation phases.

• Coordinate and supervise the work of external contractors and engineering teams.

• Keep projects within budget and on schedule.

• Prepare reports and deliver presentations based on analytical findings.

• Organize, plan, and work independently as well as collaboratively in a team with minimal supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology from an accredited institution; other degrees may be considered with significant experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in an industrial paper and/or corrugating environment or in design engineering.

• Willingness to travel 80% of the time.

• Must reside anywhere in the Lower 48 States with convenient access to reliable air transportation.

• Proficient in AutoCAD.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and AutoCAD (or similar software).

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to influence and persuade others.

• Excellent organizational and planning abilities.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with consulting engineers, local utility providers, and local regulatory authorities.
