This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Design and manage high-availability solutions for SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Snowflake.
• Develop security and authentication frameworks across various database platforms.
• Conduct database maintenance and implement monitoring tools to ensure adherence to documented RPO/RTO compliance and maintain enterprise application uptime.
• Create reusable Terraform modules and Ansible playbooks utilizing Python and PowerShell for baseline enforcement, network automation, secure data sharing, and consistent deployments.
• Construct Central Management Server infrastructure and inventory systems to discover, register, and track database instances and deployments.
• Facilitate centralized policy-based management across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Snowflake environments.
• Design and execute enterprise data ingestion solutions using Snowflake External Tables and Apache Iceberg with Amazon S3 data lakes.
• Configure and oversee Snowflake Security/Storage integrations for PowerBI, Sigma, and SailPoint.
• Offer technical leadership and mentorship to the database team.
• Act as an escalation point for advanced troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with business units, application development teams, infrastructure groups, and executive stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with 7 years of experience in the specified database platforms, security, automation, data ingestion, and Snowflake integration responsibilities.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 5 years of the aforementioned experience.
• At least 2 years of engineering experience and proficiency with Kafka.
• Familiarity with SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and multi-subnet failover clusters.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters, and Snowflake multi-region accounts with failover configurations.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake security and authentication frameworks.
• Experience with DPA, SolarWinds, and Sentry monitoring integration.
• Proficiency in developing Terraform modules and Ansible playbooks using Python and PowerShell.
• Familiarity with Snowflake External Tables, Apache Iceberg, and Amazon S3 data lakes.
• Experience configuring Snowflake Security/Storage integrations with PowerBI, Sigma, and SailPoint.
• Ability to work from home where Dimensional has offices in California, Texas, or North Carolina.
