This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of Snowflake platform operations and ensure its health across development, testing, and production environments.
• Maintain accountability and keep an inventory of essential platform assets.
• Design and automate role-based access, object ownership, grants, and controls for the access lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Identity and Security teams to enforce least-privilege access, integrate identities, conduct access reviews, and manage removals.
• Address platform issues related to workloads, data ingestion, dependencies, authentication, and data freshness.
• Conduct root-cause analyses and implement long-lasting solutions.
• Set up monitoring and alert systems to detect issues before they impact users.
• Develop production support practices, including runbooks, escalation paths, recovery procedures, and rollback capabilities.
• Engage in incident response and evaluate recovery strategies.
• Cross-train team members to mitigate single points of dependency.
• Oversee Snowflake consumption visibility, analyze trends, create forecasts, set thresholds, and optimize warehouses/workloads.
• Enhance change management through version control, testing, peer reviews, automation, and controlled promotions.
• Coordinate release readiness and regression testing across Snowflake, connected applications, vendor integrations, and AWS dependencies.
• Provide reports on reliability, access hygiene, consumption, and any outstanding risks.
• Streamline platform complexity, create reusable automation, maintain documentation, and utilize AI thoughtfully while safeguarding data and production quality.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in data platforms, cloud engineering, or data engineering, or equivalent technical expertise.
• Significant hands-on experience managing Snowflake in a production environment.
• Proficient in SQL and Python.
• Experience in automating operational tasks and troubleshooting complex production issues.
• Extensive practical knowledge of Snowflake security and operations, including roles, grants, object ownership, warehouses, tasks, stored procedures, and operational telemetry.
• Experience in managing enterprise identities, service credentials, implementing least-privilege access, and controls for the access lifecycle.
• Capability to comprehend platform consumption and optimize workloads for cost, performance, and reliability.
• Familiarity with Git-based development, peer reviews, automated testing, controlled releases, monitoring, incident response, and documented recovery processes.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Comfort with screen work, basic hand coordination, focus, regular use of computers/devices, clear communication, and occasional movement.
