This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and manage a secure, cloud-native platform that supports data, analytics, and AI/ML for a federal health initiative.
• Take ownership of and enhance the Terraform and ArgoCD infrastructure as code (IaC) and GitOps foundation.
• Create and maintain a multi-tenant, self-service platform featuring streamlined onboarding, tenant/environment management, an application and tooling catalog, and internal developer tooling/CLI.
• Operate Kubernetes on AWS GovCloud across development, pre-production, and production environments.
• Implement Karpenter and KEDA for autoscaling, ingress, Gateway API, cert-manager, and ALB integration.
• Design and deploy AIOps/MLOps capabilities for data science and data engineering teams.
• Facilitate GPU compute and scheduling, model training and serving, managed notebooks, GenAI/Bedrock workloads, and production ML pipelines.
• Construct the data lakehouse utilizing Trino/Iceberg on Glue and S3, Dagster, dbt, and search integration.
• Provide observability and service level objectives (SLOs) using Prometheus and Grafana, including custom dashboards and actionable alerting mechanisms.
• Automate security and compliance measures through secrets management, network policies, IRSA least privilege, policy-as-code, vulnerability remediation, and ATO artifact generation.
• Create and maintain platform documentation, production-readiness standards, and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate directly with government stakeholders and platform tenants to translate mission requirements into platform functionalities.
• Mentor team members and progress into a technical leadership position.
• Over 7 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Engineering, with senior-level responsibility for a production platform.
• Developed an internal developer platform/PaaS from inception for federal clients and successfully brought it to production through ATO in a federal program.
• Extensive hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, Karpenter/KEDA, Prometheus/Grafana/Loki, Trino, Dagster, dbt, and AWS services including EKS, S3, Glue, IAM/IRSA, ECR, SageMaker, Bedrock, and Athena.
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS), GitOps (ArgoCD or Flux), and Terraform infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience in designing self-service golden paths, multi-tenancy, and developer onboarding processes.
• Strong background in CI/CD with GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and progressive delivery methodologies.
• Proficient in automation and scripting using Python, Bash, and Go.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53, FISMA, and ATO procedures.
• Comfortable working within GovCloud and regulated environments.
• Skills in documentation and runbook creation.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; active Public Trust is advantageous.
