Senior Database Administrator, SQL Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance database solutions utilizing Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.

• Create and refine intricate T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and business logic at the database level.

• Analyze and improve execution plans, indexes, queries, and the overall performance of the database.

• Diagnose and resolve slow queries, blocking issues, performance bottlenecks, and other database-related challenges.

• Design and adapt database schemas and data models in response to evolving business needs.

• Develop and sustain processes for transforming, integrating, and transferring data within SQL environments.

• Work with extensive, high-volume datasets that are crucial to business operations and digital products.

• Assist in ensuring the availability, integrity, quality, and efficiency of essential data.

• Collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders to provide reliable, scalable, and maintainable database solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience as a SQL Developer, Database Developer, Database Engineer, or in a combined SQL Developer/DBA position.

• Strong professional background with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.

• Advanced skills in T-SQL, encompassing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.

• Demonstrated experience in query optimization and performance tuning within large databases.

• Practical knowledge of execution plans, indexing techniques, and database performance analysis.

• Comprehensive understanding of database design, data modeling, and schema evolution.

• Experience in developing processes for data transformation, integration, or movement in SQL environments.

• Proven capability to troubleshoot slow queries, blocking, and additional database performance concerns.

• Experience handling large-scale or high-volume datasets.

• Professional experience within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

• Advanced English communication proficiency.

• Availability to work full-time and coordinate with Texas business hours.

• Currently residing in Latin America or Brazil.
