Senior Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee production performance and capacity, providing the team with clear recommendations to prevent minor issues from escalating into outages.

• Collaborate with engineers on slow queries and production challenges, assisting them in understanding the solutions to prevent recurrence of the same issues.

• Develop and sustain database documentation, including diagrams, design standards, and best practices.

• Utilize AWS tools for managing backups, security, compliance, and disaster recovery.

• Design, oversee, and maintain the primary MySQL database containing millions of records.

• Consistently monitor database performance and capacity.

• Partner with software engineers on design patterns for new data and best practices for database interactions.

• Work independently while aligning with company objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Four to six years of experience as a MySQL DBA, including hands-on support for production systems.

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

• Familiarity with Rivery, Snowflake, or other BI tools.

• Experience with PostgreSQL.
