Database Administrator – DISA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute regular project activities to tackle specialized information assurance challenges.

• Integrate electronic methodologies to address system and technology issues concerning information assurance standards.

• Evaluate information security requirements thoroughly.

• Employ analytical and systematic strategies for workflow, organizational, and planning challenges.

• Offer security engineering assistance for the planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration of information systems.

• Install, maintain, and optimize Oracle database instances that support IDEAS.

• Establish and uphold database security standards while managing database access.

• Diagnose database-related outages and oversee disaster recovery services.

• Examine database processes, structures, and configurations, providing actionable insights.

• Test Oracle security patches and version updates while coordinating configuration adjustments.

• Create and implement database scripts for IDEAS releases and manage refresh schedules.

• Validate the database security posture against ACAS and HBSS results, review Oracle Database STIG checklists, and apply IAVA patches.

• Coordinate Enterprise Change Requests effectively.

• Support IDEAS NG data design, including database schemas and Appian record type data models.

• Analyze, map, script, and validate the migration of legacy contract data from IDEAS O&M into IDEAS NG.

• Facilitate data integration between IDEAS and interconnected systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must have an active Secret Clearance.

• 5+ years of experience as a production Oracle Database Administrator on a currently supported Oracle release.

• Proficient in Advanced SQL and PL/SQL.

• Familiarity with MySQL or MariaDB SQL.

• Oracle backup and recovery expertise utilizing RMAN.

• Performance tuning experience using AWR and ASH.

• Practical data migration experience, including source-to-target mapping, transformation scripting, and reconciliation of migrated records.

• Implementation of Oracle Database STIG in a DoD Risk Management Framework environment.

• Experience working on at least two projects within a large organization managing, operating, maintaining, and securing large-scale databases.
